Weapon Terms & Conditions

Weapon terms and conditions

1.1. Weapon Specific Terms

1.1.1. The Feet Per Second (FPS) listed on our website is based on the results by our suppliers.

1.1.2. Prior to dispatch AmmoHive will check weapon power FPS in store using XCORTECH Brand Chronometers to ensure compliance with UK Laws.

1.2. User Error/Misuse

1.2.1. If any problems are deemed to have arisen from user error, we cannot accept a return or issue a refund, we may still be able to help you in repairing the problem however you may be charged for this service.

1.2.2. Examples of user error include but are not limited to Weapon Modification. We understand that customers like to modify their weapons, however we may have to make a charge or not be able to carry out a repair once a permanent alteration or modification has been made, or if the weapon has been taken apart save for the usual maintenance (e.g. normal cleaning and lubrication see 9.4 below).

1.2.3. We cannot accept the return of items which have been taken apart using the wrong tools, or have had screws, nuts or bolts damaged due to mistreatment. Do not use ball headed Allen keys on any airsoft equipment, as this can lead to threading and serious damage. Please note, this includes all screws and nuts, including the quick- change spring release nut at the back of some receivers

1.2.4. Do not use lubrication which is not designed for use with airsoft products. We cannot accept returns or cover the cost of repairs for weapons which have been damaged using lubricants not designed for airsoft products.

Examples of inappropriate lubricants are: WD40, abrasive lubricants, and mineral oil-based lubricants. Examples of an appropriate range of lubricants are the silicone oil spray range of lubricants found on our website.

1.2.5. 1.1V LiPo batteries are for use in highly tuned and modified AEGs ONLY. The use of an 11.1V LiPo, 10.8V NiMh/NiCd or higher voltages will be regarded as miss-use and will render void all warranties on all AEGs supplied by AmmoHive Ltd, save where specified on the product page on the AmmoHive website.

11.1v LiPo batteries should only be used in guns where AmmoHive have specifically stated that the item is suitable for 11.1v LiPo in the product specification or description of the product. When purchasing a 11.1v LiPo battery you will be warned at the checkout and have to state that you accept this warning.

1.2.6. Airsoft guns are typically built and designed to last, however are not manufactured to the same build quality as real firearms. Dropping, hitting, throwing, and dipping in mud etc can cause permanent damage to airsoft guns. We cannot accept returns of weapons that have been mistreated, abused or with parts missing and broken etc.

Use the incorrect Charging unit.
Please ensure that when charging batteries, the correct type of charger is used. For example, do not use a Li-Po charger to charge a Ni-Mh battery, or a Ni-Mh charger to charge a Li-Po battery. Please read all supplied instructional material, as we cannot accept the return of items damaged in this way.

1.2.7. Several manufacturers include free items in the box. For example, free battery and charger. We would always highly recommend purchasing a separate battery and charger. The included chargers normally do not have the safety cut off feature of the battery  chargers AmmoHive offer these items separately on the website.

We cannot accept returns of these batteries and chargers if they come supplied with a weapon as a ‘free gift’ from the manufacturer.

1.2.8. Whilst failure to regularly maintain your weapon can lead to premature wear and tear, incorrectly maintaining or excessive dismantling can also damage your weapon.

Stripping and cleaning a gas powered weapon should only entail splitting the slide and frame or receiver on a rifle, checking seals, wiping dirt from moving parts and applying fresh lubricant. Removing parts, such as the trigger mechanism, can cause damage and is considered user error.
Maintaining an electric powered weapon should only entail basic cleaning to ensure the item is free from dirt and debris. Any further work, such as gearbox maintenance, should be carried out by our Shop Technicians.

2. Two Tone Service

2.1.1. AmmoHive Limited does not provide a Two Tone service at this time This is where airsoft models/realistic imitation firearms (RIFs) are altered from their original state by covering a substantial proportion of the RIF with a bright colour.

2.1.2. You can however purchase manufactured Two Tone pre coloured guns from our website.

2.1.3. The intent of the Two Tone pre coloured guns is to provide an option to purchase an Airsoft model/RIF for those who are 18 years of age and above and who do not hold a recognised authorisation (Defence) Registration eg UKARA.

2.1.4. The onus is on us as the seller of realistic imitation firearms to make sure they only sell to a legitimate purchaser.

2.1.5. The only groups of persons now allowed to purchase RIF’s are Film, TV, Museums, Theatres, Crown Servants, and persons engaged in Historical Military Re-enactment activities, and of course regular Airsoft skirmishers. All these purchasers must be over 18 years of age.

3. Don’t Compromise on Quality with your Quality BB

3.1.1. There are many different brands and types of BBs available, you need to ensure that the ones you do use are of good quality.

3.1.2. The brands that you will see available on our website are considered by us to be of good quality.

4. Age and other Restrictions

4.1.1. In order to purchase an Airsoft Weapon, also known as a Replica Imitation Firearm, you must be over 18. This applies to both weapons in standard Military Colours as well as Two Toned Weapons.

4.1.2. When ordering you will need to confirm your Age. This could be as simple as entering your UKara Number for AmmoHive to verify.

4.1.3. For Two Tone guns you will need to send an email containing a portrait picture with a driving licence in view at a resolution that the details can be read as proof that you are over 18. Example below

All the fields need to be visible for us to confirm age and address. These details will be held on file for ease of your next purchase. At any time, you can ask for this information to be deleted from our database. A paper copy with gun order along with age proof will be kept for legal protection of AmmoHive Ltd to prove compliance with the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006.

4.1.4. All gun orders will only be shipped to addresses held on the Ukara database or for Two Tone guns to the address on the driving licence and must be signed for or collected by prearranged only. UKARA stands for ‘United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association’ and is essentially a big database of all registered Airsoft Skirmishers in the UK, which allows Retailers to check an individual to see if they are eligible to purchase Replica Imitation Firearms (RIF). A UKARA Registration is recognised as a valid authorisation (defence) for purchasing an Airsoft Gun.

To obtain a UKARA registration an individual must visit a UKARA registered Airsoft Skirmish Site 3 times or more inside of 56 Days or 8 Weeks, at which point the site can stamp your paperwork and enter your details into the UKARA Database. Once you have received your UKARA number you can order a Realistic Imitation Firearm from us.
